Melvin Galapon joins Début Art / New Artist
Check out the newest member of the début art roster, Melvin Galapon.
Illustrator and designer Melvin Galapon was born in the South of England in 1981, yet hails from Burnley a small town in the Northwest of England. A recent graduate from Central St. Martin’s Melvin has been able to build an impressive client list during his studies consisting of, amongst others, Wallpaper*, The New York Times, The Guardian and Howies and has been featured in various magazines worldwide.
Melvin Galapon is currently based in London where he works on a mix of optical experiments, graphic based illustrations, installations, portraits, typeface development and design work.
Melvin loves to approach each brief differently, employing different techniques for different projects. He has worked with, and likes to use, stickered dots, pins, vinyl stickers, tape and a good old screenprinting bed.

Celebrating 10 Years of Visualizing Science: Featuring Artist Simon Prades
AAAS hosted a recent gallery show, “Invisible, novel, and complex: A decade of visualizing science”, which was a 10-year retrospective show of visuals from Science magazine, being shown in their home office in Washington, DC. One of the highlights of the exhibit included a pair of pieces about Neurodegeneration by Simon Prades, originally commissioned for the October 2, 2020 issue of Science. Royal Shakespeare Company commissions Lisa Sheehan for B.F.G
Lisa had the pleasure of creating the artwork for The Royal Shakespeare's upcoming production of 'The BFG' (The Big Friendly Giant). The show, directed by Daniel Evans and adapted by Tom Wells is set to debut later this year.
